Happy International Women's Day

2021 marks a significant milestone in our history, it’s been 50 years since Catherine Paver founded Pavers Shoes. So, this year, to celebrate International Women’s Day, we have dipped into our archives to find a very special interview with Cathy herself, where she tells her story of launching Pavers Shoes in 1971 with just a £200 bank loan (for a sofa) …

Catherine Paver

Five decades since Pavers began, the company has grown into an international retailer of footwear whilst remaining a family business. Cathy’s dedication through the years did not go unnoticed, in 2007 she was presented with Drapers’ Lifetime Achievement Award and in 2015 at the age of 83, Cathy featured in Management Today’s UK Top 100 Entrepreneur List.

Since her passing in February 2017, Cathy still inspires us to constantly push the boundaries for change, so we can continue to fulfil her dream of providing comfortable and stylish footwear for all.

The Pavers Foundation

In 2018, the Pavers Foundation was set up Catherine Pavers’ memory, a charitable initiative that is dedicated in making a meaningful impact to communities across the world, supporting projects relating to health, education, or community. Since 2018 the Pavers Foundation has donated a total of £913,400 (and counting) to causes that are close to our hearts.
